The new automatic in the cutterhead knife sharpener from Kalin.

Grinder SL-500/SL-800/SL-1300, for all cutterheads, hydroclamping or integral to shaft using HSS or carbide knife, ø 120 mm up to ø 250 mm tooling.

The Grinder introduces itself.

Very heavy machine from Kalin is perfected for automatic sharpening, particularly solid, durable machine base with the latest user control station.

Before grinding, the knife tips are measured, an out of round reading is given to the operator. This useful check identifies poorly clamped cuttingheads, loose knives that have pushed back into their slot, serrated knives that are one jump out and matching of chipped knives that have been ground individually.

After sharpening, the cutting circle diameter is determined by a high precision measuring device. This new diameter is entered into the planing machine control station with offset calculated automatically.

This machine is accessible from both sides, making for ease of cleaning, rotational drive unit placement and tool placement/removal.
